MIT
grad Marissa Acosta's film
tells the tale of "The Late Risers Club"
a ragtag group of community radio disc jockeys
who band together to create the first radio
program in Boston to play punk rock on a daily
basis. Vintage footage, photo montages and great
interviews tell the story of the gestation period
of a 25 year plus institution. As a bastion
of the alternative, WMBR's Late Risers
Club created the template that's now
a staple of college radio programming . Many
of the original dj's moved on to top-rated
commercial stations and media outlets after
pushing MIT's humble 10 watt station to the
brink of destruction and you'll hear all about
it!

Utilizing long-lost footage and interviews we

of Dorchester's first punk rock band. Despite
their commercial breakup in 1980 the band reformed
soon after and have since become a favorite
of punk fans around the world . "I've been
tracking down and remastering Axe audio and
video footage for many years. Digital technology
has finally enabled me to pull this masterpiece
out of the scrap heap." reports Mr. White.
Find out why Rita Ratt was thrown out of the
band and see Richie Parsons measure inseams
at the world debut at The Coolidge.
